Strange behavior of wordpress causing no results.

Hi David,
I have just recognized that search action does not work on my site. I don't know what happened but it was working like a charm a couple of weeks ago. The only thing I have remembered during this time is I have updated the plug-in from BETA2 to BETA3. The problem is the wordpress produces the search result link without shopping like that "http://mysite.com/?pto_q=nikon" but it should be like that "http://mysite.com/shopping?pto_q=nikon". I also tried the link with shopping but it redirects immediately to the "http://mysite.com/?pto_q=nikon". I also checked that my container permalink has been set as "http://mysite.com/shopping". So, I could not solved the problem. Could you please help me? (My site link is {link saved})
Cheers,
kempo.

Hi Kempo,

The installation seems to be re-directing all pages to the home page at the moment. Please could you try creating a "Test" page, which should have the permalink http://mysite.com/test and put some simply content on the page e.g. "This is a test page" then confirm whether browsing to /test works OK or whether that also is re-directed to the home page..

Thanks,
David

Hi Kempo,

It's sending 301 Moved Permanently for some reason; as if there is code in place to move old product links to the new plugin generated URLs for example.

Please could you email me your top level (WordPress) .htaccess and also the pto.php exactly as installed and I'll check it out further for you..

Cheers,
David.

Hi David,
I have changed my hosting company a couple of days ago and facing the same problem again, but that time I am getting it on fresh installation of wordpress 3.4 and final pt plug-in. The problem appears when I set the PTO page as front page and disappears when I disable it. I have searched all my e-mails and could not find what was the solution. Please help!
cheers,
kempo.

Hi kempo,

I recall it was .htaccess related before - could you perhaps email me the URL of the installation and your existing top level .htaccess and I'll check it out...

Cheers,
David.

Hi David,
I have resent the mail but I find the solution you proposed to me when it happened first. The solution was putting the following code to the end of pto.php file :
remove_filter('template_redirect','redirect_canonical');
I have tested it and it worked again. I think that the plug-in settings of Header Exclusivity does not work, am I right? Because I was expecting that this setting should do the effect of above code.
cheers,
kempo.

Hi kempo,

I received the files; i'll investigate whether the fix should be included in the Header Exclusivity "unhook" process, thanks for letting me know...

Cheers,
David.
