Ideal permalink structure

Hi David!

In your introduction you state that "WordPress must be configured to be using a clean permalink structure that does not end in "/" (the Numeric option is ideal)."

From a SEO point of view I feel the custom structure /%postname% (without the "/" at the end) would be better and still fulfill your request that the permalink structure does not end in "/".
Can you please share your opinion on this, especially if there's any negative impact of my suggestion that I'm not aware of?
