Hi david,
Just wondering if we can integrate the search boxes for the PT and WordPress installations.
Thanks
Richard
Thanks David,
Can you please look quickly at my site
{link saved}
This product shows fine however when I search for "birthday" or"Birthday" it doesn't come up in search results.
This seems to be the case for a lot of items.
PS - Your quick replying
Thanks
Richard
Hi Richard,
It looks like you've got $config_searchDescription set to True (wp-admin > Settings > PriceTapestry.org) but not yet created the full text index on name, description.
To do this (assuming you want to search description of course!) from your Price Tapestry installation browse to
setup.php?installIndex=1
...and that will create the FULLTEXT index on name, description and your queries should then work as expected...
Cheers,
David.

Hi Dave..
Just wondering if this was up and running as of yet?
Hello Mark,
It's my last update now in preparation for release of version 2 (for WordPress) so working on that at the moment, version 2 will be released later this month (I'll drop you an eamil as soon as it is available for beta testing).
Cheers,
David.

Hi David
Has there been any news on this integration? Is there any solution to displaying WP results along with the PT results?
Cheers.
Hi,
This will be supported by way of products imported as posts with the beta version; however the way WordPress search works doesn't really lend itself to being integrated with product search because of the results are displayed as posts with snippets, just as any other index on WordPress posts are displayed.
If there was a particular way that you envisages it working I'll happily try and point you in the right direction of course!
Cheers,
David.

Hi David,
A belated Happy New Year to you!
How could I create a search box and results page that lists wordpress posts on the same page as PT results but in a different section, e.g. prior to PT results?
Best regards
Richard
Hello Richard,
Thanks for bearing with me & HNY to you also - I am experimenting on my test server with this unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any codex interface to the internal search engine so need to dive into the internals and work out how to send the query through same route as the "s" parameter. I'm sure it will be possible but just not immediately straight forward i'm afraid...
Cheers,
David.
