Deactivating the plugin loses all settings?

Submitted by sociallyfamous on Sat, 2015-03-07 11:59 in

I have deactivated and activated the plugin and lost all the settings. It is now back to default. Is this normal behavior or have I messed something up on the way :)

That is the current behaviour and as far as I know (but I will review this) consistent with plugin best practice, in conjunction with providing backup / restore settings features which are built in - at the end of the page (wp-admin > Settings > PriceTapestry.org), there are the options to back and restore settings, which includes all template content.

Let me know if you're still not sure of course...

Cheers,
David.

The problem is that I lost a good amount of CSS for search results, cat display etc. Maybe that was not the right way to implement it but it felt harsh to lose it :) How do you implement CSS for those pages? Same way, inside the Plugin settings? But you backup the settings? Yes, maybe that is it.

Hi,

Apologies for the inconvenience. Any CSS included inline with the template would be backed up through the settings save / restore feature, however in preference I would suggest applying CSS in the plugin's own style sheet wp-content/plugins/pto/resources/pto.css, and this, backed up together with the settings / template backup file would provide everything required to restore / migrate settings and design to a new installation.

Cheers,
David.
