When I click on a product, I have a 404 error page

Submitted by DVDAFFAIRES on Mon, 2019-07-08 09:48 in

Hi David.
I hope you are fine :)
I have a little problem.
I would like to change .com > .fr domain name.
I made a copy of the old site, I renamed the .com in .fr, all reconfigured, on the same server, in PHP7 for both.
When I go to the /pt/ directory, everything works fine, products, brand, merchants.
In WP, the list of merchants works, the list of categories, the list of brands and the list of products too.
When I click on a product, I have a 404 error page.
Can not have a product displayed ...
The settings of WP are all identical, those of PT also.
Permalinks are in numeric, FULLTEXT to OFF (ON it's the same).
I tear my hair because I can not find the cause.
Of course, in the log of errors, there is nothing.

Cheers,
Raoul

Hello Raoul,

Make sure that in plugin configuration (wp-admin > Settings > PriceTapestry.org) that you have changed .com to .fr in the Base HREF setting (under External section) - that should be all it is...

Cheers,
David.

Hi David,

Thank you for your answer.
I checked all the configuration files (PT / WP). Everything looks OK.
I did a search with the Better Search and Replace plugin. There is no record of a .com in the database.
I just did a search in all the files and no trace.

I will surely reinstall everything :(

Cheers,
Raoul

Hi,

When you click a Buy URL and you get 404, what URL is in the address bar?

Can you let me know an example product page where links give 404 (I will remove before publishing your reply) or of course you can email me if you prefer...

Thanks,
David.

Hi David
I finally found.
When W3 Total Cache is uninstalled, it returns the .htaccess to its original state.
I had edit the .htaccess as you mentioned to delete /product/ in the url.
It's stupid!
Everything works well except ...
In the product lists (merchants, categories, brands), if I have more than one page, the next one is in error 404.

exp:
Previous 1 2 3 4 | Next

If I clicked 2 or Next, I got a 404 error.

Example site:
{link saved}

An idea ?
Cheers,
Raoul

Hello Raoul,

I see that pagination is now working on your site - if you are still getting 404's it may still be local cache - try CTRL+F5 to ensure a full reload by your browser.

If any pagination or rewrite issues remain let me know and I'll check it out further with you of course...

Cheers,
David.

Hi David.
Finally, I reinstalled everything completely.
I did not rename the url / product /, / merchants /, / brand /, / productcategory /. I left everything in installation of orine and everything works.

Cheers,
Raoul
