Search Keyword within Category

Submitted by pixeldreher on Mon, 2012-07-16 13:22 in

Hello,

I would like to search within a category for a particular keyword. The categories we have previously summarized from various vendors categories. Example: "category: Ventilator" and the keyword would be "AEG".

Is this possible?

Hi,

Sure the plugin has filtering built-in, but it works in the opposite sense so you would need to submit a query of "AEG" with a categoryFilter of "Ventilator", for example:

/shopping/?pto_q=AEG&pto_categoryFilter=Ventilator

Cheers!
David.

Hi,

The link you posted was to your Price Tapestry installation - it looks like it works fine when the query is pointed to your plugin at:

http://example.de/shopping?pto_q=AEG&pto_categoryFilter=Ventilatoren

(replace example.de with your domain name)

Cheers,
David.

That's right, only then are also products which are not of AEG. I would hope I can use the following call me because I use the search term with me for the template output.

Hi,

brandFilter can be included also:

http://example.de/shopping?pto_q=AEG&pto_categoryFilter=Ventilatoren&brandFilter=AEG

But that query is probably best presented using bw: (beings with *anything* which returns all products) and categoryFilter=Ventilatoren and brandFilter=AEG e.g.

http://example.de/shopping?pto_q=bw:&pto_categoryFilter=Ventilatoren&brandFilter=AEG

Cheers,
David.
