Thanks for your comments. You may have just seem this post regarding 404 errors and this sounds like the same issue - let me know if you're still finding the same problem after creating .htaccess and enabling search engine friendly URLs of course.
Regarding the configuration problem, that's PHP's soon to be deprecated "Magic Quotes" functionality that is escaping various characters in the HTML fields. I should have included this in the build but checking for magic quotes and using stripslahes on the input data is now in place in the distribution.

Hi David,
As I have used both Joomla and your excellent PriceTapestry before, I thought I would have a tinker with the Joomla beta.
I have installed Joomla 2.5.7 and all functions as expected. I have installed the PT Joomla beta in subdirectory 'pt' and tried out my first feed, all works ok until I try to save the 'External' settings on Joomla, as soon as I add the 'Base HREF' and 'Install Path' info, I get lots of backslashes in the HTML for the 'Search Form','Search Widget' etc.
A second problem is, when I browse to www.example.com/shopping/ I get an 'Error 404' i've checked and re-checked all the settings but I can't where the problem lies.
It is probably something obvious I have overlooked and any help will be much appreciated!
