Hi,
I did a search and the Wordpress plugin shows 5 products but if I go to the PT installation I get 10.
What is causing the difference and how can I change the plugin so it shows more results?
Hi,
I also noticed that when I use the shortcodes the result set is even smaller.
I tried for example [pto prices="same keywords as in search"] and that resulted in zero products.
Hi Marco,
The prices attribute is to display price comparison table for a named product; e.g.
[pto prices="Product Name"]
For search results inline, use the search attribute e.g.
[pto search="Keyword1 Keyword2"]
Cheers,
David.
Hi,
What I was expecting was the the results would be the same if I'm using the same keyword for "Product Name" and "Keyword1 Keyword2".
But if I use the shortcode [pto prices="Product Name"]I get only one result (one shop) in my price comparison table while the shortcode
[pto search="Keyword1 Keyword2"] with the same search parameters delivers four results (with 7 shops) where the products can be bought.
I guess the search functionality between the shortcodes is different but I would prefer the 'more broader' search of the [pto search="Keyword1 Keyword2"] shortcode for the price comparison table.
Is that possible?
Hi Marco,
It sounds like the products are not quite identically named which is why only one is showing up in the price comparison table so perhaps it's a candidate for Product Mapping?
If that doesn't look like the case if you could email me the links showing the problem I'll take a look..
Thanks!
David.
I email you the links. Product mapping would not always work for me. I'm having some dynamic content.
Thanks Marco! I've collated everyone's feedback over the last few weeks and will be rolling up into a beta 2 release this week.
Hi,
Just wanted to inform you that I updated the plugin with beta 2 but the search results are still different.
Thanks Marco, I've got your email with the URL details looking into this today...
Hi Marco,
Thanks for the email with the URLs I'll check it out and get back to you..
Cheers,
David.
